Japan, “the Land of the Rising Sun”, is a cultural paradox, intrinsically walking the line between sacred past and high-tech future-millennials of tradition, pride and religion blending seemingly effortlessly with sky-scrapers, robots and capitalism. The further one travels from the economic center of Tokyo, the more frequently tradition dominates. That is to say that old-growth Cedar forests, wildlife and eco-centric buddhism still have a place in Japan. In some ways, this complicated society has drawn the blue-print for a healthy future. It’s clean and respectful. It is becoming more conservationally oriented. It has remarkable food. Oh wow, the food!
